Teaching at the Junior and Senior High School level can be intimidating. Often, parents elect to hire out certain classes. Our goal at the Collierville Connection is to provide the homeschooling community a high quality academic program taught by educators with expertise in specific subject areas. Each course is a full year curriculum and qualifies as full weighted credit on High School transcripts. Junior High courses are designed to prepare the adolescent with necessary organizational skills and provide a firm foundation in academic subject matter. Responsibility and self motivation are essential to your child's success; however, this is a partnership with the homeschool parent. Parents are required to assist their child at home so that assignments are handed in on time and complete. Classes meets 2 days a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays following the Shelby County School schedule. Writing at the sixth grade level is 1 1/2 hours in length. All other academic and elective classes are 2 hours long. |
